Rothley’s origins are rooted in the zeitgeist of the industrial revolution, conceived in 1826, as a tube factory by Birmingham based founder George Burn. The brand identified fireplace companion sets, brass bedsteads, and curtain poles manufacturers as principal clients for its brass-cased tubes. Steel conduit tubes became Rothley’s staple in the 1900, widely used for electric wiring in public buildings and ocean liners among which the 1934-year-launched Queen Mary was the most prominent. Rothley’s success in tube production opened avenues in manufacturing cabinet hardware and metal hardware products. With customizable tubes and pre-packed hardware Rothley emerged as a key player in the DIY revolution of the 1970’s and went on to become one of the first to supply its products to DIY stores in the UK. Attributing its success to healthy customer relationships Rothley’s core philosophy of hardware made easy for customers has resulted in a strong presence across 12 distinct categories of the Hardware, Building, and the DIY segments.

Over the years the tube making spectrum at Rothley’s has grown to include a decorative range of tubes and fittings. Colorail is its best performing range in the DIY retail sector that offers fittings in clear polybags with header cards prefigured with product illustration, product description, and purpose-driven colour codes. Tubes in the Colorail series are individually packed in poly sleeve bags labelled with descriptive barcodes. Worktop supports, cabinet legs and table legs in an array of designs and finishes cater to the furniture manufacturing markets and DIY retail markets by Rothley’s comprehensive leg range.
